Plate heat exchanger structural principle
Plate heat exchanger is a late-model that adopts numerous metal corrugated sheets for heat transfer, upper beam for hanging, lower guide rod for positioning and bolts for fixing. Every two plates are sealed by sealing materials. After combination, there flow different cold and heat media in the corrugated channels on two sides of each plate. Thanks to unique channels design, turbulence is generated to promote heat transfer and prevent the surface of the plate from scaling. Wave crests of adjacent plants contact to form a network supporting, which improves the structural strength of plates enabled to bear more pressure, ensure the safety of the exchanger and extend the equipment’s lifespan.

After introduction of advanced technology and design concept from AMETECH, Ametech (Shanghai) focuses on the reliable utilization and optimum operationto improve heat transfer efficiency and lower energy consumption furthest.
Multi-purpose flow channels to meet different velocity and amount of heat transfer
Broad and narrow flow channels to meet different media and working conditions
Deep and shallow flow channels to meet different media and working conditions.
Hard and soft plates to improve heat transfer efficiency and ensure the rigidity of the exchanger.
Long and short size: At least 3 heights are available for each kind of exchanger’s access, which meets customers’ requirements of configuration of equipment.
Unsymmetrical flow channels are designed based on different temperature range and flow of first and secondary media, which ensures constant velocity of flow among plates and improves heat transfer efficiency.
Reasonable plate material and thickness
Stainless sheets of 0.5-1.2mm thickness are adopted. If not required by customers, we will select SS304 usually; or considering different media and working conditions, we will use SS316L, Ti, Ni or other alloy suitable for media. When it is 0.5mm in thickness, the pressure is 25Bar and 40Bar of 0.60mm in thickness. The maximum pressure among sheets is 16Bar. Excellent strength enables to avoid malposition of sheets due to high pressure. Sheets are featured by good resistance to puncture for there is friction between hard grains in the fluid and sheets.
